Nu-Blu Nail by Nail
God has blessed us here at Family
Friendly Gaming in a variety of ways. I am amazed daily at all of
the different doors God has opened to us. Sometimes people ask me
what do we plan on growing into next. I rarely know. Why not? I ask
God for direction and guidance daily. I follow where He leads us.
This is the first time we are doing anything major with music. We
used to have Songs of the Month some years back. But we did not
offer any commentary on any of the songs. Just songs we liked that
month.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a CD with seven songs from
Nu-Blu. The songs are The Abyss, Man from Galilee, The Carpenter,
Martha and Mary, You See Jesus, Where Did You Get that Water, and
Hammer. These make up Nail by Nail. There are upbeat songs, and a
few slow songs. I personally really enjoy Hammer. This song has an
amazing message, and fantastic lyrics. Mary and Martha applies
Biblical history to our lives and which figures we are like. Where
Did You Get that Water reminds all of us believers that we are
emissaries for Christ. Too many in the modern day church live like
the world, act like the world, and then claim Christ. They discredit
their witness. They make it harder for those of us working
diligently to be good emissaries for Christ.
The blue grass sound of Nu-Blu is pretty new to me. I am sure I was
exposed to blue grass many years ago, but I do not recall when. So
for me listening to Nail By Nail is a cultural experience. When I
first started listening to Nu-Blu I thought it was light on
theology. Which is fine because not every song needs to bring
everyone to salvation. Nor does it need to bring us to a point of
deep concentrated study. In fact much of the contemporary Christian
music I am familiar with does not have deep theology either. That
was before I heard the last two songs. Especially the last song
Hammer. This song has a haunting feel that burrows past defenses.
I am so thankful that God opened this door. Nu-Blu is a wonderful
group with some wonderful songs in Nail by Nail. I hope you will
check out this CD when it comes out publicly. I can see Hammer being
sung in churches during the offering or as a special song.
God bless you and yours,
