Family Friendly Gaming Hall of Fame
Since 1998 those of involved
with Family Friendly Gaming have been promoting good
games for families. We have been involved in the
industry for decades. We are constantly honoring
good games for families. The Holy Bible has been the
set in stone standards we have applied to the
definitions we use. Covering these games in a wide
variety of forms has been the order of the day for
these games. We wanted to do something additional,
and special for some of the best of the best. Yes we
have a rarely given seal of approval.
What about something else though? Some companies and
some franchises deserve a lifetime achievement
award. Which is usually given when that lifetime is
over with. In video games a franchise can come back.
Companies can come back. So after much prayer,
fasting, and earnestly seeking God's will we have an
exciting announcement. Welcome to the Family
Friendly Gaming Hall of Fame. Here are the in year
of our Lord 2014 inductees. Each
inductee will be sent a plaque to commemorate their
status of as a Family Friendly Gaming Hall of Famer.
Motion Controls - Nintendo
Nintendo shook up the landscape of the video game
industry with the launch of the Wii. This home
console system got lazy gamers off the couch and
made them move around while playing. Calories were
dropped, and exercise was gained thanks to video
games. Motion controls helped people with arthritis,
and injuries. Now they could play their favorite
sports without the nasty physical wear and tear of
the real things. Nintendo launched a video game
revolution with Motion Controls that improved the
lives of millions. Families continue to appreciate
the contribution Nintendo made in this area, and it
earns them a place in the Family Friendly Gaming
Hall of Fame. Congratulations to this technology and
company for being one of the 2014 inductees into the
Family Friendly Gaming Hall of Fame.
8-bit Christian games (Wisdom Tree)
It is also appropriate to pay honor and homage to
the pioneers. Wisdom Tree is the pioneer of
Christian video games. They are the rock stars of
Christian video games because they were the first to
have the vision. They knew good Christian video
games could be made, and put out there for the
public to purchase. Even with the video game
industry being bigoted against Christians, Wisdom
Tree got their wonderful games into the hands of
millions. Their perseverance and vision is an
example to all of the rest of us in this day and
age. They are long overdue in the Hall of Fame.
Brenda Huff is the current owner. Congratulations to this company for being one of the
2014 inductees into the Family Friendly Gaming Hall
of Fame.
Tim Emmerich – CGDC and Graceworks
Interactive
There are giants in the video game industry. There
are great men and women in the video game industry.
They all pale in comparison to Tim Emmerich. He is a
true leader within the video game industry. He cares
about others. He cares about God. He cares about the
right and important things. He will openly and
quickly admit he is human. He does not hide or shy
away from his mistakes. Tim Emmerich is one of the
most amazing men in the entire video game industry.
His insight, intelligence, perseverance, kindness,
and helpful attitude is an example to all of us. He
works with the Christian Game Developers Conference,
Graceworks Interactive, and has a day job. Tim does
more in a morning than some people do all week long.
Tim embodies what it means to be a Hall of Famer.
Congratulations to this man for being one of the
2014 inductees into the Family Friendly Gaming Hall
of Fame.
Cheryl Gress – Christ Centered Gamer
Cheryl Gress is a wife, mother, and Christian gamer.
She started Christ Centered Game Reviews last
century. It has since morphed into Christ Centered
Gamer. She and her husband have shown what it means
to serve within the video game industry. Their
message boards can get spirited at times as all are
welcome. The one caveat is everyone is expected to
respect others – even when you disagree. Cheryl runs
one of the longest running Christian gaming
communities on the Internet. She was running this
site way before churches would get involved. Way
before youth groups would talk about it. Before most
pastors even knew about video games. Cheryl has over
a decade of work to attest to her heart to bring the
lost to Christ. Her patience, kindness, and realness
are well known. Congratulations to this woman for
being one of the 2014 inductees into the Family
Friendly Gaming Hall of Fame.
