Namco Bandai Games Launches Antiques Roadshow Discovering America's Hidden Treasures

SAN JOSE, Calif., (August 18, in the year of our Lord 2011) – Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced that Antiques Roadshow™: Discovering America’s Hidden Treasures is now available on the Apple® iPad. Based on the popular PBS television series, the hidden object game includes 30 visually stunning locations with hundreds of antique items. The player guides Julia, a history teacher hired at an antiques shop, through an adventure of lost items and photos as she pieces together the story behind the shop and its owner, Mr. Hinton. As Julia finds the objects, a backstory unfolds revealing their historical significance.

Throughout the adventure, players can perform five unique mini-games, which reveal clues and items in need of refurbishing. Players can then take them to Antiques Roadshow where they’ll be appraised for their estimated value.

“Having released previously on PC and now available on iPad, Antiques Roadshow™: Discovering America’s Hidden Treasures is an example of how we’re making interactive experiences accessible across multiple platforms so you can play whether you’re at home or on the move,” said Carlson Choi, vice president of marketing NAMCO BANDAI Games America. “There is a unique and surprisingly exhilarating thrill to discovering the unexpected value of different items, as seen on the show.”

The hit television show began in 1997 and currently generates 10 million weekly viewers in the U.S. Antiques Roadshow™: Discovering America’s Hidden Treasures for the iPad is published through a licensing agreement with WGBH and BBC. The title was previously released on PC under the same agreement.

With Game Center support and achievements, Antiques Roadshow™: Discovering America’s Hidden Treasures is available now for $4.99 on the Apple® App Store.
