There was a moment in time when pinball ruled the world. The game turned out more profit than Hollywood in the 50s and 60s, and spawned its own eclectic fan base of “pinheads” who relished in this unique world that was “special when lit.” Now, however, the popularity of the game has dramatically dwindled. Times have changed and the days of frequenting an arcade for entertainment are few and far between, but there is still an avid subculture of “pinheads” keeping the dream alive. “Special When Lit” explores the rise and fall of pinball and its impact on our culture.
