Eight finalists were randomly selected after registering for the Monster Jam: Path of Destruction Video Game National Tournament on www.MonsterJam.com and flown to the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals along with a guest in pursuit of victory.

Clinton Wall, of St. Louis, Mo., chose Avenger and squared off against Iacono, who chose Bounty Hunter, in the finals. Iacono made his way to the finals by beating Jeff Bruzee, of Rockville, Md., and Wall made his way to the finals by beating Alivin Thurgood, from North Ogden, Utah. In the final round, Iacono and Wall needed a rubber match in the best of three races to determine the overall winner.

“It’s always a great pleasure to be part of the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam World Finals,” said David Hinkemeyer, global brand manager, Activision. “I would like to congratulate all of our competitors who are all great ambassadors for our video game and Monster Jam, especially Michael Iacono who is now a national champion.”

Iacono took home an Activision prize pack, including a library of games as well as bragging rights to the Monster Jam: Path of Destruction Video Game National Tournament.

“I was so shocked to get the call and very happy,” said Iacono after the win. “I am even more shocked to win here tonight in front of this capacity crowd.”
