Classic 1970s video game Sea Wolf is back
Lakewood, NJ (January 24, in the year of our Lord 2012)—Before
Space Invaders, before Defender, and even before Asteroids,
there was Sea Wolf. Coastal Amusements, Inc. today announces the
release of Sea Wolf, possibly the most popular arcade game of
the 1970s, as a mobile app, exclusively for the iPhone and iPod
Touch. The game is now available in the App Store in two
versions—a free limited version that allows players to conquer
				the first two missions (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sea-wolf-lite/id494265873?mt=8)
and the full 8-mission app, which can be purchased for $1.99 (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sea-wolf/id477771646?mt=8).
For more information about the game or to watch a demo, please
				visit the game’s site at

				www.SeaWolfApp.com.

Based on the popular WWII-themed game, the new Sea Wolf app
preserves the details that shot the arcade game to instant
				popularity (true-to-era ships--including submarines, tankers,
battleships, and destroyers--klaxon horns, zipping speed boats,
an artillery of weapons, and a chance to make the oceans safer
for the allies) while taking advantage of the iOS platform,
enhanced graphics, and tilt and touch technology. The game is
comprised of 8 missions, wherein the sailor (the player) must
destroy enemy ships and planes with torpedoes, 50-calibre deck
guns and flares, while fending off enemy limpet mines and
torpedo counterattacks. Sailors receive authentic mission
briefings, and rise up the ranks as they complete each mission.

“Sea Wolf continues to be one of our most popular arcade games,
so we handpicked it for our first foray into mobile gaming,”
said Sal Mirando, Co-Founder of Coastal Amusements. “Our hope is
that the mobile version of the game will both ignite nostalgia
among original fans and reproduce a similar level of enthusiasm
among younger gamers. Mobile technology is something we are
				really excited about.”

The Sea Wolf app launch is more than just a mobile experiment,
however; it’s an opportunity to reengage (and newly engage) a
diverse community of fans. The game’s microsite is both
informational (with “About” and “How to Play” type content) and
an extension of the overall Sea Wolf experience. The Sea Wolf
blog will offer regular game updates, player highlights and the
				thought-provoking—and sometimes dark—insights of a fictional
sailor living in a WWII sub, and a demo video and mission
overviews round out the site and give future Sea Wolf junkies.

Sea Wolf is also on Facebook and Twitter, where fans and
followers are the first to know about updates, new content,
				contests, and giveaways.

The Sea Wolf arcade game first debuted in 1976, and was released
in 3-D by Coastal Amusements in 2008. The arcade game can be
found at most Chuck E. Cheese and Dave & Buster’s locations, as
well as FEC’s throughout the world.
