Extra Life Brings Its Good Game to E3 2012
May 29, in
the year of our Lord 2012 — Gamers looking to play for good
have a can't-miss booth to check out at this year's E3 Expo, June
5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Extra Life, a
gamer-centric fundraising phenomenon helping Children's Miracle
Network Hospitals, will mark its first E3 presence with a station in
the convention's West Lobby.
"Extra Life allows everyday gamers to shine as heroes for sick and
injured kids living in their community," said Jeromy 'Doc' Adams,
founder of Extra Life and the program's director at Children's
Miracle Network Hospitals.
In addition to registering for the October 20 Extra Life event,
booth visitors can be tagged as "heroes" with a personalized Extra
Life bag tag in exchange for a business card. While the tag is
created, visitors can take the opportunity to register for Extra
Life or find out more about this grassroots gaming initiative.
Extra Life was created by Adams in 2008 to honor the late Tori
Enmon, a 15-year-old girl who played video games during her battle
with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In 2011, Extra Life participants
reached a fundraising milestone, with more than $1.1 million
directly benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the
United States and Canada. Hospitals use the funds to purchase
equipment, conduct research and provide uncompensated care. Visit
