GameGadget Goes Live As The First Units Ship
Doncaster, UK - April 5th in the year of our Lord 2012
-- After 2 years in development GameGadget shipped the
first consoles to excited customers on Wednesday 4th April 2012.
Supported by a growing fan base on their Facebook page and the
offer of 30 Free games pre-orders for the device (seen as the
iPod of retro games) exceeded day one forecasts, resulting in
further stock being put into production ahead of schedule.
GameGadgets Founder, Jason Cooper quoted: "We've already
increased production to meet demand I have been overwhelmed by
the level of positivity around what we are trying to achieve and
the support from the general public, especially through our
Facebook page, is greatly appreciated."
GameGadget offers gamers, game developers and game publishers,
unrivalled choice and flexibility in how they play, create and
sell games. Described as the iPod for Games GameGadget is the
first games console to be developed in the UK since the heyday
of Spectrum and Amstrad over 20 years ago.
The GameGadget Application, the gaming equivalent of iTunes,
allows for games to be downloaded directly onto the GameGadget
via a secure DRM (Digtial Rights Management) system. Operating
on a revenue share basis, developers of content receive revenue
for every game that is downloaded.
GameGadget is now available from online retailers such as
Amazon, Play and The Hut as well as UK High St retailers such as
Grainger Games. GameGadget are also offering customers the
opportunity to "Group Buy", sharing in the same volume discounts
usually enjoyed by retailers and distributors. Fuelled by Social
Media, customers can act as micro distributors supplying family,
friends and neighbours, sharing the discount or selling for
profit.
