Gamechurch and Verizon present ThanksGaming to aid food insecure homes
Ventura, CA October 10, in the year of our Lord 2012 – On November 16, 2012 Gamechurch.com and Verizon Fios will sponsor a unique fundraising event to aid some of the 6.8 million American households facing “food insecurity” this coming Christmas season.
ThanksGaming is a multimedia telethon style event aimed at providing relief for needy families through the medium of video gaming. The event will be broadcast via live web stream and social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
The inaugural “gameathon” will be hosted by The Armory, a non-profit gaming center in Ventura, California for the duration of the event, November 16-18, 2012.
At The Armory our team of gamers will risk their sanity participating in PC, console, and tabletop gaming for 48 hours straight. Throughout the course of the event viewers can donate online, as well as interact with the ThanksGaming team via Skype, Twitter or Facebook.
The entire staff and management of Gamechurch.com and The Armory will be on hand to answer any questions and to explain the purpose of ThanksGaming.
