Konami Announces Dragon Collection for the Gree Platform
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Sept
27, in the year of our Lord 2012 – Konami Digital
Entertainment, Inc., today announced Dragon Collection for the
all-new GREE Platform on iOS devices. Dragon Collection is an
award-winning mobile social game and currently one of the
biggest card battling social mobile games in Japan. The title
has surpassed an incredible 6.5 million domestic registered
users and will be available in the North America market for the
very first time this fall.
"We are pleased to introduce the popular Dragon Collection to
the North American market, exemplifying our dedication to
providing engaging experiences to the rapidly expanding social
and mobile platforms, including the newly announced GREE
platform," said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital
Entertainment, Inc.
Dragon Collection is a card game that has players embarking on a
fantastical journey in pursuit of the legendary Dragon Cards.
The title will feature all new monsters designed exclusively for
the North American version of the game, while including the core
gameplay modes in the original title, such as Quest (players
explore the Dragon World), Battle (players battle villains and
rival players), Gacha (players compete for a random prize), and
Fusion (players strengthen by merging favorite monsters). With a
well balanced design that allows both old and new gamers to pick
up and play, Dragon Collection also incorporates in-game events
and campaigns that change based on user's requests and opinions.
Social engagement is a key element in Dragon Collection as
players either fight each other as rivals, or bridge each other
as allies with simple taps. The more friends the user has, the
better the advantages they will benefit from. Players can also
earn points by cheering other players and helping friends beat
large enemies. Dragon Collection has won various awards,
including "Japan Game Awards: 2011 Future Division," from the
Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA).
Dragon Collection will be available this Fall on the App Store
for the GREE Platform.
