Rediscover the lost city of Atlantis in two new adventures for PC the Mac and iOS
Montreuil (France), August 2, in the year of our Lord
2012. French publisher Anuman Interactive is continuing
to update installments of the legendary “Atlantis” adventure
games license and announces the release of two new titles,
"Atlantis 2 HD" and "Atlantis Evolution" (coming soon) as part
of its Microids collection for PC, Mac and iOS.
Last January, Anuman Interactive announced the release of a
reworked and tactile-friendly version of the third installment
of the "Atlantis” series, “Atlantis The New World”. Now two new
installments of this adventure game series, “Atlantis 2 HD” and
“Atlantis Evolution”, have been given a new lease of life on PC,
Mac, iPhone and iPad.
In these two new titles, players will embark on adventures that
will bring them face to face with the people of Atlantis, in
high-color landscapes from the lost city of Atlantis.
In “Atlantis 2 HD”, players step into the shoes of young Tibetan
Ten (a descendant of the hero of the first Atlantis
installment). His adventure will take him to Tibet, Ireland and
even China so that he may complete his assignment - to get to
Shambala and defeat the Bearer of Dark, evil incarnate. In
“Atlantis Evolution” (the fourth episode of the saga), players
portray Curtis Hewitt, an explorer from the start of the 20th
century swept up by a whirlwind during a devastating storm at
sea, and propelled into this mysterious world where technology
is everywhere he looks. Here, he will find the people of New
Atlantis, who are enslaved by bloodthirsty gods, and he will
have to save them from this terrible oppression.
As in the other titles in the Microids collection, “Atlantis
Evolution” is a first-person adventure game where players enjoy
a 360° view of the 3D environments. They must explore these
environments in order to collect objects that will prove useful
during the adventure and which will be automatically stored in
an interactive inventory. Adventurers also have access to a
quick inventory where they can equip these objects before using
them, in interaction with the surrounding environments and the
characters they meet during their trek. For example, when Hewitt
Curtis is almost devoured by a massive carnivorous plant, he can
use a branch to block the plant's jaw and thus get out alive.
Players must solve enigmas as they progress through the game to
unblock various game situations. For example, in “Atlantis 2
HD”, when he finds himself in Ireland, Ten must reconstruct a
symbol concealed on a chapel wall in order to get a wand that
will be essential for the next part of his quest.
As soon as players leave the game, an automatic save system
allows them to pick the game up later at the exact place where
they left off. Also among the features is the Compass Look
function, which players can activate on iPhone and iPad thanks
to the gyroscope, and which will allow them to explore the
environments around them by pointing and angling their devices.
“Atlantis 2 HD” is available from July 31, 2012, in EFIGS
(English, French, Italian, German and Spanish) in the Games
category on AppStore and on all major download platforms.
