Surprise Hit Film October Baby Debuts on DVD and Blu-ray Today

OCTOBER BABY launches DVD and Blu-ray sales nationwide Sept. 11
building on the surprising success of its theatrical run,
opening at No. 8 in the nation against THE HUNGER GAMES and
other big-budget movies, although opening on half as many
screens. OCTOBER BABY ranked No. 3 in per screen average sales.
The film earned more than $5.3 million at the box office,
appeared on page A-1 of the New York Times and was named among
Entertainment Weekly’s “15 Most Impressive Box Office
Performances for 2012.”

WHO: A production of Jon and Andrew Erwin and American Family
Studios with Provident Films. DVD and Blu-ray distribution in
the Christian retail market is through Provident Distribution,
while Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment distributes to
all other domestic distribution channels.

SYNOPSIS: As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly steps onto the
stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before her first
lines, she collapses. Countless medical tests all point to one
underlying factor: Hannah’s difficult birth. This revelation is
nothing compared to discovering that she was actually adopted .
. . after a failed abortion attempt.
Bewildered, angered and confused, Hannah embarks on a journey
with Jason, her oldest friend. In the midst of her incredible
journey to discover her hidden past and find hope for her
unknown future, Hannah sees that life can be so much more than
what you have planned.

first-time feature film directors and brothers Jon and Andy
Erwin continue their storybook success. The brothers, well known
as award-winning music video directors, made a splash with their
film debut, drawing praise, criticism and controversy. Jon Erwin
co-wrote the screenplay, with first-time screenwriter Theresa
Preston, who also co-wrote October Baby the novel, which
released Sept. 1.
Shari Rigby, who plays the character of Hannah’s birth mom, was
moved by the script to come to grips with abortion’s impact on
