Another Reason to Dislike the Playstation 4
Cordova, TN; August 18, in the year of our Lord 2014--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is acknowledging yet another reason for
families, and gamers to dislike the Playstation 4. Their one
size fits all approach to recording your game play sessions has
sent Family Friendly Gaming Nation into a frenzy. There have
been plenty of reasons for families to dislike the Playstation 4
since its launch. Low quantities of systems released on purpose
by Sony Computer Entertainment to try and drum up even more
support. Not packaging in the Playstation Eye sensor and calling
it a complete system. Failure in terms of releasing family
friendly video games. There is now a new reason to add to the
growing list of problems with the Playstation 4.
HDCP protection. Sony is out there claiming they want to have
the largest population of gamers sharing their game play
sessions. Yet they are banning gamers from recording via
external devices. The video capture device we use here at Family
Friendly Gaming produces a HDCP protection error. Microsoft does
not give us that error on the Xbox One. Nintendo does not give
us that error with the Wii U. Sony is the only one with this
problem on the Playstation 4. Why is this? Why is Sony being so
restrictive? Has success gone to their head like it did with the
Playstation 2? Sony is setting themselves up for a major fall if
they continue these restrictive policies.
Family Friendly Gaming uses a capture device to record videos
that appear on our Youtube channel and on our website. We can
add audio, split videos for time, and more. Sony is denying us
that ability. You know what that means don’t you? We won’t be
recording games on the Playstaiton 4. When companies offer us a
reviewable copy we are going to ask for a Xbox One, and
Wii U version before we even consider looking at a Playstation 4
version. It also means less interest in playing any game on the
Playstation 4. Other companies and other systems will have
videos on our website and Youtube channel. Sony is shooting
themselves in the foot, and limiting their exposure. I guess
their goal is to diminish their position in the market.
God bless,
