Artisan Going Home Again Released

Winter Garden, FL. [October 29th, in the year of our Lord 2014]: The two sisters behind Unseen Kingdom Studios announce the release of their premier Windows PC title, Artisan: Going Home Again, at prominent game site Desura.com.

Artisan: Going Home Again is a story-driven slice-of-life-sim that started from an observation on the somewhat ironic lack of representation the arts have in games and in nearly every other creative industry.

"It's always been funny to me that fields which require so many artists to run, never seem to reflect on the nature of the work that they, themselves, do." Says creative lead Amy Lester. "We thought it would be a neat angle to take on a game."

In Artisan: Going Home Again, you take on the role of Ellie, a young artist who is trying to find a way to buy back her childhood home. She has many ways to accomplish this, as is evident by the games more than a dozen endings, but all of them require her to learn and grow in some way.

The game's mechanic is primarily a stat based sim, with a few twists to the genre. "There are two game 'worlds' here: The hero’s apartment and the world outside." Explains programmer Melissa Lester. "The apartment has two mini-games you can play to boost crucial inventory items, and a job system, which is essentially a time management game. The town is experienced as an interactive novel, with your choices effecting the heroine’s relationships with the townsfolk or even giving you new tasks to do back at her apartment. Some jobs you can do at home can unlock new areas in town. In a way, it’s kind of like a text-based adventure game."

Artisan: Going Home Again has had an extensive beta testing phase and will be available at both Desura and at the developer's website on November 1st for $9.99 with more online stores planned at a future date.

Humble Bundle has agreed to process sales of Artisan: Going Home Again by way of it's Humble Widget. Humble users will find the widget on the developer's website for the November 1st launch date at a price of $9.99.
