Big Idea App Competition Announced
SAN FRANCISCO – September 12, in the year of our Lord
2014 - Digital Kids® Media today announced the
first-ever "BabyFirst Big Idea Competition" from Digital Kids
and BabyFirst, the world’s leading multi-platform media company
focused on parents of babies and toddlers.
Taking place at the Digital Kids Summit on October 22 at 1pm,
they are inviting app developers – or anyone with a great idea
for an app for kids under five – to take part in a pitch
competition in front of a panel of experts, similar to the Shark
Tank® television program*. The winner of the contest will
receive $100,000 worth of television advertising on BabyFirst’s
targeted 41 million+ home cable TV network and through its app
recommendation network.
The top five finalists will be selected to present their idea
live at the conference in front of a panel of experts at Digital
Kids Summit
The judges include:
- Henry Hsiao, Senior Director, Marketing and Digital Media, HIT
Entertainment, a division of Fisher-Price, Inc
- Robert Rossa, Senior Business Development Manager – Worldwide
Kindle Kids and Family Products, Amazon
- Asra Rasheed, General Manager, BabyFirst Mobile
- Tonda Bunge Sellers, President, Digital Kids Media
“In an increasingly crowded app space, visibility and
discoverability are key,” says Asra Rasheed, General Manager at
BabyFirst Mobile. “This competition provides one individual with
a unique idea for an age-appropriate, educational and
entertainment app the opportunity to be discovered by parents
through BabyFirst’s unique, curated mobile recommendation
network.”
“We are thrilled to team with BabyFirst to bring forth the first
Big Idea Competition at Digital Kids Summit," said Tonda Bunge
Sellers, President, Digital Kids® Media. "Our goal is to empower
digital media professionals worldwide so that they can better
address the children's digital media market. The Big Idea
Competition furthers this mission. Digital Kids Summit provides
power business networking, detailed insight from industry
experts and now, with the addition Big Idea Competition, a real
head start to some of the most powerful ideas out there. With
this competition we are excited to see the groundswell of
innovation focused on the kids market."
Interested parties must submit their idea online by Monday,
