EA E3 Press Conference
June 9, in the year of our Lord 2014 -- 12 noon
PST a few blocks from the Galen Center in some hideous temple.
There are drinks and donuts for the attendees. Donuts were
stale, but the water, sprite, and diet coke was great.
The lights go out, and we are treated to a video on Star Wars
Battlefront. Dice got to make the game they always wanted to
play, or so they say. A quote from Yoda is brought up: "Do or Do
Not."
Andrew Wilson welcomes us to the EA promotional meeting on their
upcoming products. Claims there will be twelve games to show us.
They want to make amazing games that are creative, and
imaginative. Never hear that from any other companies. ;)
Dragon Age Inquisition is shown. This is an anti-family game
filled with blood, gore, bad language, and more. A game families
will want to flee from. Bioeware rep rants about the game.
Another video of the game is shown. A third video is shown.
Really?!? Talk about overkill - and not just inside the game.
A Bioware rep explains how they make games, and what they put
into them. This time it is a space game. A new Mass Effect is
announced. Another one families will want to avoid due to
excessive amounts of offensive content.
Rachel comes out to announce a new Sims game - The Sims 4. We
actually already knew about it, but hey who is quibbling?!? We
can now control the parts of the Sims, and we define their
personality. No mention of supporting traditional marriage was
mentioned. Every Sim will have their own story. Sims will stay
mad the next day after something bad happened to them. They
killed off a character for us - pretty sick and twisted.
September 2nd is when EA wants you to give them money for this
PC game. A final promotional video was shown.
Now we get into UFC. They have a nice video, and then interrupt
it to correct it. Bruce Lee is shown. He fights BJ Penn. Bruce
Lee beats him down, and we are done with the martial arts
violence. This game ships next week.
What will change in NHL 15 on the PS4/Xbox One Everything
according to EA. Expect more control, physics for all characters
and the puck. A nice video for NHL 15 is shown. The teams that
made the games are thanked.
EA is changing how they create games. It takes less time to try
things out. Some ideas work and some don't. Frontier Games was
referenced. A video is shown. They want to allow the first
person view to drive cars, ATV's, helicopters, and more.
An EA Tiburon rep came out. He starts talking about golf. EA
Sports PGA Tour is referenced. A video was shown, and it looks
better than ever before. It will load between holes seamlessly.
Madden time. After the embarrassing Super Bowl prediction, EA
Sports is focusing on the defense. A new camera is added for the
defense. Blocking changes, and so does open field tackling. A
video of the great defenses was shown. New player emotions is
shown. August 26th is when it launches.
A video for another violent game is shown. Does not look good.
Families will want to pass. Then we get another video for
another violent game. Some Faith character. Looks like another
one to pass on.
Fifa 15 is shown in a video. Looking great. Emotions are a big
thing of this game as well. Notice a theme? Turf will show
damage which is cool. Another video is shown. A new slogan is
shown: "Feel the Game."
It ends with a video of a violent game Battlefield Hardline. One
families will want to pass on.
