MICROIDS ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF "9
ELEFANTS", AN ENIGMATIC HUNT THROUGH THE PARIS OF THE ROARING
TWENTIES
Paris, April 24, in the year of our Lord 2014.
Microïds puts your skills of logical deduction to the test in "9
Elefants", a thrilling adventure game set in the Paris of the
Roaring Twenties and available on PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
The adventure puzzle game for all, "9 Elefants", developed by
the Infernal Brothers, was a winning entry in "Anuman’s
Anniversary Challenge 2012". To celebrate its 12th birthday,
Anuman Interactive (and its Microïds label) ran a competition
for games projects. The prize was €120,000 to help the winners
develop their games plus a publishing contract.
The fascinating ambience of "9 Elefants" plunges you deep into
the heart of an adventure crammed with puzzles, mystery, and
plot twists. Talking with colorful, likeable characters,
exploring the most enigmatic corners of Paris, and solving over
235 puzzles are just some of the pieces of action you will enjoy
as you draw on your inventiveness and powers of logic to unravel
the strands of this magical story.
Professor Weissmann has vanished without a trace. He had come to
Paris where, at the Universal Science Congress, he was to unveil
his latest invention, the Time Camera, capable of revealing the
past behind any scene that it shot. The professor’s daughter
Laura is sure he has been abducted. With help of Eustache, the
professor’s cat, she sets out on the trail of a mysterious group
whose sign is "9 Elefants". You follow the intrepid
investigators through a strange, retro world to the sound of
music with a driving beat.
The game begins on the Champs Elysées. There you find out that,
to track down the mystery group through Paris, you need clues.
To gather those clues you have to question the inhabitants of
Paris. But Parisians do not tell what they know so easily.
Whether on the Champs-Élysées, in the exotic Goutte d’Or
district, the Halles vegetable market, or outside the Cathedral
of Notre Dame, every place you go enigmatic characters give you
clues only if you solve the puzzles they set you. These may be
general knowledge quizzes, jokes, brain teasers, maths riddles,
etc.).With every correct answer you collect an object that helps
you progress through the game and improves your knowledge in
different fields, which include inventions of the 1920s.
Pieces of film footage regularly appear and disappear into the
background. If your reflexes are fast enough you will be able to
catch and collect them, then use them for a new challenge or
change its level of difficulty.
"9 Elefants" was released on April 24, 2014 for PC, MAC, iPhone,
iPAD and Android in English, French and German.
