Top 10 Dreamy Video Games

games. You might also think of this as the top ten sleep related
video games. These are entire games that are dreams. These are
games where the main characters are asleep. These are games
where there are entire dream worlds. Role playing games and
Nintendo reign supreme on this particular listing.
10. Dragon Quest VI
Dragon Quest VI is a role playing game with an entire dream
world. This is not the first instance of this concept being used
in video games. Let alone in a role playing video game. In fact
plenty of other games use this same idea. Moving from the real
world to the dream world is an interesting concept in Dragon
Quest VI. It also allows developers the ability to save space
since the same map is used twice in this turn based game. This
game was on the Super NES, and Nintendo DS. There are issues
families will have with this game.
9. The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening
Speaking of role playing video games with a light and a dark
world. We come to The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening on the
Gameboy. This action adventure role playing game takes Link away
from the land of Hyrule. We are put in a dream land that reminds
us of what was done with Super Mario Bros 2. Which is coming
later in this countdown. In The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening
we do not find out it is all a dream until the end. Or I just
gave you a spoiler. You might have guessed it since The Legend
of Zelda Link’s Awakening is on this list.
8. Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X is another role playing game that shocks players
at the end. This Playstation 2 home console video game (also
remastered on the PS3 and PS Vita) blows our minds away with
revelations about specific characters in the ending. Final
Fantasy X is a turn based role playing game that leads us to
believe everything is normal until we find out certain
characters and areas are dreams. There are multiple issues
families will have with Final Fantasy X in terms of content.
7. EarthBound
Are we dreaming while we play EarthBound? A lot of EarthBound
feels like a bad dream. There is fighting our dark side, going
to a dream town, and having to live out bad dreams. This quirky,
odd, and strange Super NES video game (that has been ported to
other later systems like the Wii U) can give you bad dreams. The
sleep related connections to EarthBound are apparent. Please
note this game has multiple issues, and is not the most family
friendly.
6. Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance
What is real? What is a dream? The Kingdom Heart video game
franchise challenges us to unravel that mystery. Kingdom Hearts
3D Dream Drop Distance is one of the better dream related
Kingdom Heart video games. This is an action adventure role
playing game that is heavily tied into the Disney franchises.
Square Enix also included plenty of their Final Fantasy
characters. This mixture enhances the dream related aspect to
Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance on the Nintendo 3DS.
5. Mario & Luigi Dream Team
How about an entire game where one of the characters is
sleeping? That is what we get with Mario & Luigi Dream Team.
Luigi is asleep the entirety of this Nintendo 3DS hand held
video. Mario & Luigi Dream Team is another role playing game.
And it is another video game from Nintendo. They seem to dream a
little dream with many of their video games. Mario & Luigi Dream
Team is very heavy in the dream related content from start to
finish. There is no hiding what this video game world is about.
4. Kirby’s Dream Collection
Kirby’s Dream Collection is a play on words in multiple ways.
This home console Wii game (also playable on a Wii U) is a
celebration of Kirby’s 20th anniversary. Kirby’s Dream
Collection also contains multiple Kirby Dream Land video games.
Three of them to be accurate. There is a reason Kirby’s side
scrolling action adventure video games feel like a dream. The
characters, worlds, and more all feel dreamy. Kirby’s Dream
Collection has a real sleepy feel to it as well. There are six
entire Kirby related video games in Kirby’s Dream Collection.
Half of them have the full dream connection.
3. Nights into Dreams
If you have any lengthy gaming knowledge whatsoever you had to
expect some Nights game. Nights into Dreams is the one we picked
for this article. In this Sega Saturn home console video game
(ported to the PS2, PC, XBLA, and PSN) will take you into the
dream world. Be warned though - Nights into Dreams will also
take you into nightmares. Christmas Nights deserves an honorable
mention due to its connection to Nights and the wonderful
holiday - Christmas.
2. Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 2 is considered to be one of the most difficult
Super Mario video games of all time. It is also the game that
takes us into a dream world. We can play as Mario, Luigi, Toad,
or Princess Peach.This 8-bit NES home console video game has
been ported to multiple systems years later. Bowser is not the
end boss in Super Mario Bros 2. Instead we face a giant frog
character named Wart. The dream land aspects of Super Mario Bros
2 run deep in the story from start to finish.
1. Little Nemo The Dream Master
Capcom earns the top spot with their 8-bit NES release Little
Nemo The Dream Master. From start to finish this game lets us
know we are in a dream. We are playing with a young boy in the
dream world. He can ride different animals by feeding them
candy. Little Nemo The Dream Master is a side scrolling 2D
action adventure video game. Before the Disney Pixar fish
related movie, Little Nemo meant the dream master. To gamers,
and non gamers alike. To Family Friendly Gaming Little Nemo The
Dream Master is the best dream related video game.
