Five Reasons FFG Is Into Skylanders Superchargers
Cordova, TN; September 28, in the year of our Lord
2015--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in
covering the family friendly video games is giving five reasons
why we are into Skylanders Superchargers. I was very skeptical
of the addition of vehicles to the Skylanders franchise. I
thought it was a bit too close to what the overpriced Lego
Dimensions is planning on doing with vehicles. I am happy to
admit I was wrong. How many other gaming journalists will admit
they were wrong about something? Let alone an editor in chief.
As ya’ll know I am real, honest, and honorable. If I make a
mistake, I own up to it. Skylanders Superchargers is a mix
between Mario Kart, and a Skylanders video game. Want to know
something? It works. Let us get into the five reasons we are
into Skylanders Superchargers.
1. Amiibo connection to Skylanders with Donkey Kong, and Bowser.
This is one of the coolest new things to hit the video game
industry in some time. These two figures work with the
Skylanders franchise, and they are also Amiibos that work with a
variety of Nintendo video games. A little turn of the base
allows families to move from Skylands to Amiibo. Families get
extra use out of the purchase. Note the Donkey Kong figure comes
by itself, and in the Wii U Starter Pack. The Bowser figure
comes by itself, and in the Nintendo 3DS, and Wii Starter Packs.
2. Vehicles are so cool in Skylanders Superchargers. The three
main kind of vehicles in Skylanders Superchargers are air, land,
and sea. Families will need one of each type to access all areas
of Skylanders Superchargers. The Wii and Nintendo 3DS version
Skylanders Superchargers Racing will loan the player one of
those types if your family does not own one. No leveling up that
vehicle though. Speaking of leveling up, it is awesome to level
up vehicles. It is also cool to supercharge a vehicle by using
the figure that goes with that vehicle. Which makes the vehicles
even more powerful.
3. Improved graphics are very noticeable in Skylanders
Superchargers. Some of the levels were definitely influenced by
Mario Kart 8 as up and down can get very confusing. The details
in the figures and in the on screen graphics have taken a
noticeable step up. There are also many more objects on the
screen at the same time. Activision has stepped up as more
competition has entered the toy to video game genre. It shows
and Family Friendly Gaming is appreciative.
4. The game blending in Skylanders Superchargers works amazingly
well. It also keeps the game play in Skylanders Superchargers
very fresh. I will admit we were getting bored of punching, and
kicking all of these characters in previous Skylanders video
games. Skylanders Superchargers mixes racing into the main
levels, as well as regular racing levels. At the end of the day
Skylanders Superchargers feels like multiple games at the same
time. Which helps with the cost of this hybrid video game.
5. The humor continues in Skylanders Superchargers. I love all
the different characters in this franchise. As the franchise
continues to grow and build we meet more and more characters in
Skylands. Skylanders Superchargers expands this by adding in
Pandergast. He is a great new character into this franchise.
Flynn continues to steal the humor in Skylanders Superchargers.
He really adds some amazing class and personality to the
Skylander video games. The other characters play off him
masterfully well.
It is really hard this year to figure out which franchise we
like better. Right now it is a two horse race between Disney
Infinity 3.0, and Skylanders Superchargers. We are spending all
kinds of time playing Skylanders Superchargers. Over and over
again we hear: “This is Awesome!” At this moment in time we like
Skylanders Superchargers a bit better than Disney Infinity 3.0.
Lego Dimensions has not come close to either one.
God bless,
