Unreleased Super Nintendo Title Completed and Released on Cartridge
Friday, November 20th, in the year of our Lord 2015
– Houston, Texas United States of America – Originally in
development for release on the Super Nintendo in the early
1990’s, Dorke and Ymp is an action platform title with a unique
graphical style. Initially developed by a Swedish company, Dorke
and Ymp ceased development when a publisher was unable to be
secured. During the ensuing years, Dorke and Ymp sat unfinished
until Piko Interactive were able to locate the original
programmer, artist and music composer, reuniting to finish their
prior work.
Nearly 20 years after the final Super Nintendo title was
released in North America Piko Interactive has made Dorke and
Ymp available for purchase. This marks a unique point in history
for Piko Interactive, and retro gaming fans in general, as they
continue to expand their physical cartridge releases. Dorke and
Ymp was incomplete, about 50% or so was available in the source
code that was obtained by Piko Interactive. Over 100 bugs, many
crash causing, were fixed, a brand new never before seen world
(Volcano) was added to Dorke and Ymp along with a menu,
cut-scenes and ending. Piko have also implemented a password
system, designed and developed the four boss fights that were
originally planned for Dorke and Ymp so many years ago.
Dorke and Ymp is manufactured from brand new materials, no
original Super Nintendo titles have been harvested for this
release. This means that parts are in much better condition and
more durable than if they had been harvested from 20+ year old
cartridges.
Dorke and Ymp is compatible with all clone and original consoles
and available with a card board box and color manual right now.
There is no pre-order option with this release, it is ready to
ship shortly after purchase.
Additionally Dorke and Ymp is currently up for vote on Steam
Greenlight for a Digital download version.
