Discs for Digital Downloads

Cordova, TN; June 6, in the year of our Lord 2016--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is talking about the massive interest in physical discs and cartridges being made available for digital downloads. Whether they are for back up purposes, or if they are used for playing the games on multiple different machines. It would make transferring a game from one system that you own that breaks down to the replacement system you purchase. Families could certainly use a way to create a physical copy of their digital downloads. Someone needs to create a device that allows gamers to burn a copy of their digital download purchase.

I expect the fear mongers will immediately reject my idea. Why would anyone reject such a loving, caring, considering, and helpful idea like allowing gamers to create physical copy versions of the digital downloads? Because they are fear mongers. I expect they would say it would increase piracy. Do I need to remind you what Notch of Minecraft fame did? Also how well Minecraft succeeded. Do I need to bring up that historical reference? An open hand earns more money than a closed fist. There is always a danger that some unethical, immoral people will abuse any opportunity. That number increases when greedy, self-absorbed gaming companies deny gamers right of ownership. So what is the solution to decreasing that number?

I can think of all kinds of video games, movies, and television shows only releases in the lame digital download format. I never think of playing a digital download. I always look at physical copies of games when I am trying to decide what to play. Once digital downloads move past the hurdle of being disposable, then the entire industry improves. I am pleased to see more and more digital copies being released in the physical copy format. The progress we have seen in recent years has been awesome. More needs to be done though. We need to move from a trickle to a deluge. Having some add on device would be perfect. This add-on device could let families burn a copy of the digital downloads. So which company out there is going to jump on this idea?

God bless,
