Upgraded Logging System

Cordova, TN; August 8, in the year of our Lord 2016--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is officially announcing the completion of the upgrade to the logging system. You might have noticed the footer of the Family Friendly Gaming website documents the current unique IP count. This is how many unique IP addresses have visited the Family Friendly Gaming website. It does not count how many views there are on Youtube, how many views on Raptr, how many views on Facebook, how many views on ISSUU, how many views on Pinterest, or how many views on Twitter. Which of course adds to the foot print Family Friendly Gaming has on the Internet. We now know how many unique IP addresses have visited us year over year.

Family Friendly Gaming started in March of 2005. We have no tracking data whatsoever from that time until January 23, 2008. It is unknown how many hits, and how many unique IP addresses accessed Family Friendly Gaming in that close to three year period. From January 23, 2008 until November 2013 we have a tracking report of fifteen million views and 3.2 million unique IP addresses. GoDaddy did not provide us with log files to be able to verify unique IP addresses going forward. They stopped their tracking reports and started to provide log files. From 2013 on we have saved the log files. This new system takes each log file and loads them into a database. We then run queries to determine unique (or DISTINCT) IP addresses.

From 2013 through the end of 2015 we have had 4.1 million unique IP addresses. In that same period there were only one hundred thousand duplicates that were dropped off when we merged the years. So we are confident not many duplicates are in the 3.2 million to the 4.1 million. Remember we also have three years with zero stats which should offset any possible duplicates across the two different systems. This is why we are confident in our assertion that at this time (not counting in 2016 until the year completes) we have had 7.3 million unique IP addresses access the Family Friendly Gaming website. Thank you so much for making Family Friendly Gaming successful beyond our wildest dreams.

God bless,
Paul Bury
