Decline of Madden NFL
Cordova, TN; November 6, in the year of our Lord 2017--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is exploring what is going wrong with EA
Sports and the Madden NFL franchise. This article has been
coming for some years now. There are so many factors that go
into the rise or decline of a franchise. You might even have
some ideas of your own. The NFL itself has been in decline for a
couple of years. Will they turn it around? Will the radical and
highly divisive political correctness continue to destroy
football as we Americans know it? I do not have answers to all
of the questions I ask. I put them out there for public
discussion and debate. Ultimately ya’ll decide which companies
to support with your time and finances. When they attack your
beliefs many of ya’ll leave them.
I did quite a bit of research and found (on VGChartz.com) that
sales of Madden NFL 18 are down from sales of Madden NFL 17 on
the PS4 and Xbox One. This is a year over year comparison of the
same time ranges. Family Friendly Gaming has received multiple
messages from gamers who are mad at the NFL and do not want us
covering Madden NFL 18. The PR and Marketing for EA Sports
failed Family Friendly Gaming again this year. We have still not
released a review of this game, and we hear from many readers
that if we don’t review it, they don’t buy it. So EA Sports has
lost thousands of sales right there. The players in the NFL that
are attacking the military, veterans, the flag, and our way of
life have created massive negative backlash. Papa John’s Pizza
has dropped their advertisements in the NFL. Millions of viewers
are no longer watching the NFL because of the disrespect of the
National Anthem. The NFL has become like Atlus USA or Sega –
messing up no matter what they do.
There is something that few people want to talk about though.
The game play in Madden NFL games is also on the decline. EA
Sports is taking away options and modes to throw in some
extremist storyline. According to EA Sports only half of the
players who bought Madden NFL 18 actually tried Longshot. Who
wins a game of Madden NFL 18 has more to do with EA Sports team
rankings than anything else. Players are expected to login every
single time they play the game. Or tell that login to go away.
Difficulties can only be changed in certain spots and not within
a game. If I am up 28-0 at half time I want to increase the
difficulty setting. Madden NFL 18 does not allow it. The lack of
competition in video game football has made EA Sports lazy. They
stopped listening to families long ago. It is sad to see Madden
NFL in such decline. The decline of the NFL is going to bring
down Madden NFL as well.
