Nintendo Switch Pass or Fail?
Cordova, TN; January 16, in the year of our Lord 2017--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is continuing our pass or fail article
series. This is where we explore something and give the reasons
it will fail, and the reasons it will pass. From there you can
make the call on whether it will pass or fail. This column is on
the Nintendo Switch. There are a lot of factors that go into a
success or failure of any product, system, and/or device. Are
you excited for the Nintendo Switch? Are you not thrilled about
the Nintendo Switch? We each start with our own perspective and
biases.
The Reasons Nintendo Switch will fail in 2017
Nintendo has stated that the battery life for the Nintendo
Switch away from the docking station will be two and a half to
six hours (depending on the game). Since Nintendo is prone to
exaggeration Family Friendly Gaming is very concerned about the
real battery life of the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has also
announced they will start their online for free and then it will
be a paid service. This will hurt the pocket book of families
and/or kill the online games on the Nintendo Switch. The launch
titles are very light meaning new owners of the Nintendo Switch
will have little to play on it. The price of Nintendo Switch is
too close to the Wii U. Nintendo is known for having quantity
issues which can lead to the demise of any system.
The Reasons Nintendo Switch will pass in 2017
The adaptability of the controllers is really neat to see.
Nintendo Switch could kill off the Nintendo 3DS as a home
console hand held hybrid. The price of the Nintendo Switch is
reasonable for families. There is no region locking on the
Nintendo Switch. There are games families can enjoy coming in
2017 like 1-2-Switch, Super Mario Odyssey, Snipperclips Cut it
out together, ARMS, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. There are tons of
games coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2017. The adaptability
and portability of the system is impressive. March 3, 2017 is a
good release date for the Nintendo Switch. Families can enjoy a
variety of new experiences on the Nintendo Switch.
What Nintendo Switch needs to do
I decided to add a section for the Nintendo Switch. This is what
Family Friendly Gaming believes the Nintendo Switch needs to do.
It needs to allow families the ability to play Nintendo DS and
Nintendo 3DS games on it. The game prices on the Nintendo Switch
need to drop in comparison to their competition. Games like
Dragon Quest X, and Dragon Quest XI need to be brought over to
regions outside of Japan. Splatoon 2 needs great local
multiplayer modes. Nintendo needs to release a high quantity of
the Nintendo Switch machines all over the world.
You get to decide if the Nintendo Switch will pass or fail in
2017.
God bless,
Paul Bury
