Why Include Bad Content?

Cordova, TN; August 28, in the year of our Lord 2017--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is asking all of us in the video game industry a very important question. Why Include Bad Content? Too many video games include over the top content that is not really needed. So why put it in there in the first place? Some people might say the answer to that question is because it is what gamers demand. Not here at Family Friendly Gaming. In fact we ask for the exact opposite. There are a small population of gamers that ask for the blood, gore, bad language, and other bad content. More sales are lost by including it than by leaving it out. Why does that small population of gamers want the bad content?

Just as we promote creation here at Family Friendly Gaming, there are others who worship the exact opposite. There are people that worship death and destruction. In my opinion that is where the demands for the bad content is coming from. That may not be the only reason. If you have another reason I am willing to listen. I ask these questions and write these columns to spark thought and conversation. The ideas I come up with are not the end all be all. There are many people who email me with wonderful ideas I would have never thought of. So it is neat to see the various ideas on these topics ya’ll come up with. We worship God here at Family Friendly Gaming. I know there are people who worship Satan. We will all answer for our choices one day.

Logically and economically I cannot see why some companies obsess over the macabre and morbid content. They are limiting their audience with the bad content they put into their games. I would think each of these companies would want to limit as much of the bad content as possible. That way they could reach a larger audience. I know there are some hardcore hater gamers that constantly push, fuss, and fight to get macabre and morbid content. Maybe it makes them feel superior to have all of the evil, vile, and wicked content within video games. I am not sure how. After all the way they think and the way I think is exactly opposite. I prefer the good, wholesome, uplifting, positive, and happy content. Where do you fall on this issue?

God bless,
Paul Bury
