Can’t Pause Online Games

Cordova, TN; June 4, in the year of our Lord 2018 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is explaining one of the reasons we are not so big on online video games. There are a variety of different issues, and problems with online video games. I have had bad experience with mean, hateful, foul mouthed, nasty, discriminators of Christians, and more while playing online gaming. The one religious belief that is allowed to monopolize these online games is atheism. That one belief set is promoted above all others in most of the online gaming experiences I have had. Not going to get into that in this article. Instead this article is about the issue of not being able to pause online video games. Why is that?

I know what some of ya’ll are thinking. It would be unfair to allow someone to pause an online game? Why is that exactly? How often does someone kill someone else afk (away from keyboard)? It is an easy kill. The person who is afk should go into a ghost mode where they cannot move, be attacked, or have other players interact with them. Plenty of people have been killed because of Internet connection, and speed issues. It looks like they are afk, but in reality they are lagging. They should be in this ghost mode as well. It would be fair. That way certain people are not buying victory with better gear, and connections. We all have real life that comes along. We can pause normal games. Why is this feature missing in online video games?

I know some people believe a pause would be abused. Certainly spiteful people who are about to die could pause to avoid death. The pause feature in an online game should have a limit. Say five minutes. Maybe only allow it if they are not currently being attacked or firing their weapon. If there are no current engagements going on in an online video game then pausing should be just fine. This is my idea, and my concept. What do you think? What problems do you see with allowing players the pause function in online games? Would you use a pause feature in an online game? Would be wait for a paused player to come back and immediately take them out? Where do you stand on the issue of not being able to pause in online games?

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
Paul Bury
