Cordova, TN; October 29, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is addressing a problem in the video game industry that too few gaming media outlets will address. The problem is selfishness in a nutshell. I notice all of these gaming media outlets thinking of just themselves. All of these gaming media companies thinking of just themselves. It is absolutely appalling. To be transparent and fair there are a couple I can think of that are not all self centered, and self absorbed. Christ Centered Gamer, Clash Entertainment, and Ensensasoft come to mind as those companies that work well with others, and think of others. The sad truth is they are the exception and not the rule.
Here are some things I hear too often in the video game industry – “thanks for being a fan,” “thanks for making me money,” “thanks for giving me my way,” and “thanks for increasing my profit.” Do you know what I never hear from any of them? Things like: “can we do anything to help you,” “we need to advertise with you,” “we are providing payment for your ideas that made us money,” and “how can we show our appreciation for the hard work you have done that has made us money?” The boots on the ground reality is too many in the video game industry just think of themselves. They are making money, climbing the ladder, and looking good. All off it of our hard work. All of it while stepping on us.
It saddens me to see such selfishness in the video game industry. It tarnishes the image of the industry and of all the wonderful people doing great works in this industry. Too many in the gaming media only care about themselves and their entertainment. They do not care about the gamers. This is why some gaming media outlets have been hostile to their own audiences. How messed up is that? Too many in the gaming media no longer represent their own audiences. They have become racist, sexists, breeder-phobes. This is yet another reason why so many families, casual gamers, and hardcore gamers have no faith, trust, hope or love in too many gaming media outlets. The swamp of corruption is one thing. This is another one that may be associated.
Do you think the video game industry could have a revival of caring about and for others? Do you think the video game industry is doomed to failure? Can you see any solutions to the problem of selfishness in the video game industry? Where do you think our industry goes from here?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
Paul Bury
