How do we know?

Cordova, TN; November 19, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing our open, honest, and transparent communications explaining how we function and operate. The open question this article is trying to address is – how do we know? How do we know if something will be good or bad? How can we tell if a certain product will fit in with our target age range? What mechanisms do we have in place to make that discernment? Are we ever wrong? Have we ever been lied to? Have we ever been fooled? What is the history in making that determination?

We get tons of press releases, videos, images, and other content every single week. There are certain telltale signs that some product is not family friendly. If the press release contains profanity then we know they have no respect and generally ignore the product being presented to us. We look at the history of the company. Certain companies only produce macabre, and morbid content that is highly offensive. Unless they are making a point about actually releasing something family friendly we generally drop those as well. We look at all of the evidence we have at the time. Many times that is not enough.

We have been lied to and fooled by unethical snakes in PR and Marketing. They only care about getting their story in front of as many people as possible. They don’t care about integrity, or ethics. Once we catch them lying to us we mark them down as untrustworthy. Many times we won’t run with their future content because they have ruined the trust. In essence they hurt themselves in the long run with their unethical business practices. Thankfully those instances are few and far between. We have gotten better over the years discerning the good from the bad. There is plenty of bad content that we have protected our amazing readers from. Lord willing we will be able to keep that up as time marches on.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
Paul Bury
