I am having Stirrings
Cordova, TN; August 20, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is openly admitting something. I have been
burned by way too many companies way too many times. I roll my
eyes when I hear for the ten thousandth time their upcoming game
will have AI that is finally intelligent. Video game publishers
have been making that claim since the 16-bit era. Do you know
how long ago that was? I generally reserve my judgment for any
video game until I have played it for quite a few hours. There
have been too many video games that have let me down over the
decades. Why get all excited to only be disappointed yet again?
The odds are ever in favor of the video game not matching the
hype made by the PR and Marketing representatives for these
companies.
I found myself putting aside logic, history, odds, and reality
when it comes to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I felt myself
starting to get stirrings of excitement for this game. Not real
emotions mind you, just stirrings. Not actual feelings, just
stirrings. I feel like Nintendo is trying to provide for as many
different kinds of gamers as they can with Super Smash Bros
Ultimate. Over a hundred stages, and all the new cool characters
tells me that. Nintendo has made important partnerships with a
variety of different companies to produce a game with a boatload
of cool characters. The Castlevania characters actually interest
me. That may seem like a strange thing to admit.
The more I find out about Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the
Nintendo Switch the more I am interested in playing it. I know
it will be in the Christmas season that this home
console/handheld hybrid video game is released. I still hope to
hear about a story mode in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I like the
different ways stages can be played. I like being able to have
one stage morph into a second stage. There are numerous
characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate I am interested in
playing. There are Assist Trophies in Super Smash Bros Ultimate
that interest me. Like who? Bomberman comes right to mind. Could
you imagine Bomberman as a playable character in Super Smash
Bros Ultimate?
