The Problems with Company Trailers

Cordova, TN; July 9, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is answering a request question. Why doesn’t Family Friendly Gaming publish company trailers like they used to many years ago? There are multiple answers to that question. Each and every single answer is viable, important, and part of why we rarely do that anymore. The main reasons are they monetize videos on our channel, the trailers are just ads, and trailers result in few views. Family Friendly Gaming started doing original videos in September of 2013. Our Youtube channel has exploded. We did company trailers two years prior and reached hardly anybody. Seems like a no brainer in that regard alone.

One of the most disgusting things about company trailers is companies who begged us to publish their trailers on our Youtube channel, and then these companies monetized the videos. They were only using us to make money for themselves. They had no thought to the costs to us. They had no appreciation for our hard work. They refused to share any of the money made off of the product. Instead we were just dollar signs to them. That kind of greed turns our stomachs here at Family Friendly Gaming. How dare they treat us like their slaves. How dare they act like we are not supposed to get paid for our hard work.

It bothers me that these companies are sending out advertisement videos and calling them trailers. That is enough of a problem if you know what I mean. What makes it even worse is they want us to spend our time and money publishing these videos on our Youtube channel for free. I have seen videos from companies that were run on television stations. Those exact companies paid the TV stations to run those videos. Even though we have a larger reach than those TV stations we were expected to run those same videos for free. What are we chopped liver? We should get paid for those advertisement videos just like the TV stations.

As you can see Family Friendly Gaming has valid reasons for not running these trailers on our website, and Youtube channel. Some other reasons are: plenty of other channels run the trailers, too often these companies are trying to bypass us to have viewers go directly to them, and we do not have the time or money to run their unpaid advertisements. Family Friendly Gaming is open to receiving payments to run these advertisements. Otherwise we see no good reasons to run the company trailers. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Fire off an email, tweet, or post in a response.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
Paul Bury
