Treating us like criminals
Cordova, TN; September 3, in the year of our Lord
2018--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering
the family friendly video games is addressing an important issue
in the video game industry. Too often there are too many video
game companies that treat their customers like criminals. We
have talked about the manipulative control freak nature of too
many of these companies. Maybe they do not like streamers and
Youtubers. Maybe they want to squeeze every dollar out of their
games and demand to get paid for used video game sales. Recently
Family Friendly Gaming reviewed a game where the video game
publisher would not let us play the game unless we gave them our
account username and password. Actually they do that to all
people who purchase that game. Why?
The only thing anyone of us at Family Friendly Gaming can think
is to make sure no one makes videos of their game. If you make a
video of their game, they can go into your account and removed
it. That kind of freaky control does not belong in the hands of
any video game company. As the years progress these companies
are getting bolder with their control freak ideas. Not enough
gamers are standing up to them. Family Friendly Gaming has stood
up to them for years. We have been punished a variety of ways
for standing up for you the consumer. We believe in consumers
rights here at Family Friendly Gaming. We believe when you buy a
video game it is your property. You can use it how you see fit
as long as you are not copying it and selling those copies to
others. Where are the other gaming media outlets on this?
The silence from the other gaming media outlets is deafening. It
is shocking and stunning. I wonder if they are cowards who fear
companies black listing them. If every gaming media outlet stood
up against this evil the video game companies would have to
reverse their policies. How can they punish all gaming media
outlets? After all they need us to get the word out about their
games. They need us to make more money. If the video game
companies abusing power black listed every single gaming media
outlet they would see a drastic drop in sales. Plus objectivity
might return to too many of the bought off gaming media outlets.
This would improve the video game industry, and the image of the
gaming media outlets. What do you think? Is it time to stand up
to abuses from the video game companies? Is this part of the
swamp of corruption in the video game industry?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
Paul Bury
