What is bad?
Cordova, TN; December 24, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is addressing an interesting concept. What is bad? Do you think you know for sure what a bad video game is? Do 100% of all gamers agree with your definitions? Why is the video game industry so splintered and fractured in definitions of good and bad? What can be done to set some standards? I just finished recording a video on this exact same topic. It is a FFG Chronicles that will probably go online within a month or so. We have a good backup of videos so they are not coming out as quickly after they are recorded. We wanted to bulk up in case anything ever came up. Let us go back to the question at the center of this very article. Why can’t gamers agree? Do you have any ideas?
My opinion is too many gamers have embraced the extremely radicalized far leftists in their attempts to redefine words, history, truth and more. I have heard hardcore haters make the extremists claim that kid’s games are bad. Why? They do not contain all of the macabre, morbid, evil, vile, and wicked content these hardcore haters crave. In other words they are not the target audience. Does the game reach the target audience? Does the target audience enjoy those games? I see a lot of kid’s games as really good games. I also accept God’s definition of good and bad. I am not arrogant enough to claim I know better than God. I trust God knows what He is doing. I choose obedience over rebellion. I do not force this on others though.
I noticed many hardcore haters are constantly trying to force their extremely radicalize rebellious beliefs on others. This is alarming on so many levels. I do not want to join them in such extremist rebellious beliefs. I want to stick with the Biblical definitions. What gives them the right to try and force the evil, vile, wicked, macabre, and morbid upon me? I define those as bad. I also look at games with messed up cameras, and poor controls as being bad. Would you agree with those? Would you call a game with horrible controls and/or a messed up camera as a good game? Are there areas we can find some common ground? I certainly hope so. I look at a lot of profanity as bad in a video game. It is not needed and it winds up offending.
There are other things I think we can agree on as being bad in the video game industry. Pay gates, repeat pay to play, lies from PR and Marketing are things that come to mind. Do you like those things? Do you dislike them? Do you see company propaganda for bad games as a good thing or a bad thing? I see digital downloads as a bad thing, because we consumers lose rights of ownership. Do you see them as a good thing? Have you ever sat down and thought about all of the things you define as good and why you define them that way? Have you ever taken the time to analyze what you define and good and why you define those things that way? It might be interesting to give this little exercise a whirl.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
Paul Bury
