What is this Fortnite Craze?
Cordova, TN; August 27, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is exploring what makes Fortnite so
popular. If you are like me you might be scratching your head at
so many people playing and becoming addicted to Fortnite. Why is
this game so popular? Isn’t Fortnite just another online shooter
that has been overdone in the video game industry? Isn’t
Fortnite just another repeat pay to play video game that
millions of gamers have rejected? What is it about Fortnite that
has teenagers playing over and over again? Are there aspects of
Fortnite that would interest your family? I hope to answer as
many of those questions as possible.
Fortnite is available across multiple platforms. It has become a
very popular game because so many Youtubers and Twitchers are
sharing their gameplay. Fortnite is part Minecraft and part
shooter. The bright and colorful graphics make it more
approachable. There is no blood in this THIRTEEN and OLDER ONLY
ESRB rated video game. The in-app purchases in Fortnite are
cosmetic only. Meaning the gamers who hate paygates come to a
game like Fortnite instead. There are multiple and different
ways to play Fortnite. With each new season comes new content
and sometimes modes in Fortnite. Each game in Fortnite feels
different. There is dancing and traps in Fortnite.
Fortnite has become a cultural phenomenon. How long will it
last? How many clones will appear in the near future? I do not
have answers to those questions. I can see why Fortnite has
become popular among so many of the teenage gamers. I have never
personally played Fortnite. I have watched my teenage boys play
it. I understand the concepts behind this game. Fortnite is sort
of like The Hunger Games in the odds are never in your favor.
You may never win a fifty man battle royale in this game. Many
people get addicted to trying over and over again. Getting to
craft items after acquiring resources is pretty cool. Setting
traps, putting up walls, and more make Fortnite more realistic.
A lot of teenage and adult gamers have fun playing Fortnite.
Will I ever play it?
NOTE: There was a physical copy of Fortnite available that is
extremely expensive to purchase since it was discontinued.
Hopefully it will return to the physical copy realm in the
future.
