Where are the 3DS Games?
Cordova, TN; July 23, in the year of our Lord 2018--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is addressing a concerning trend in the
video game industry. This is something we predicted could
happen. What is it exactly? The Nintendo Switch seems to be
killing off the Nintendo 3DS. There are a handful of video games
being released on the Nintendo 3DS in the last few months. Most
of those are also on other systems like the Nintendo Switch. Of
course we are looking at physical copy releases of games and not
the digital downloadable games with their stigma.
We noticed local retailers have been shrinking their Nintendo
3DS retail space. As these shrink it starts to make us think the
Nintendo 3DS is on its way out. Will the Nintendo 3DS be retired
in 2018? 2019? 2020? Nintendo is throwing a few games at the
Nintendo 3DS at retail this Christmas season. Other game
developers are ignoring this system altogether. They are all
jumping on board the Nintendo Switch. Plenty of other game
developers are happy to release their games on the PS4 and/or
Xbox One. As we continue to see fewer games we start to project
down the future. The end for the Nintendo 3DS looks to be within
sight.
It not time just yet to sound the church bells for the death of
the Nintendo 3DS. I fear that we were right in our prediction
about the Nintendo Switch. Maybe Nintendo is focusing on the
Nintendo Switch and plan on coming back to the Nintendo 3DS
later this year, or even early next year. I doubt that though.
History of the video game industry teaches us these companies
move on pretty quickly. They want you to buy their next thing.
They want your money for whatever new idea they come up. Why?
They get more profit that way. Rewarding customer loyalty went
extinct in the video game industry with NEC. What do you think?
Are you optimistic about the future of the Nintendo 3DS?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
Paul Bury
