Dark Side of Gaming - What Have You Done For Me Lately?

Cordova, TN; December 2, in the year of our Lord 2019 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing our requested series on the DARK SIDE OF GAMING. This article is on the ‘what have you done for me lately?’ concept. This entire thing turns my stomach. It is even worse when the thank you for us spending money on making them money is do more for me. Literally we have heard this over and over again from some self absorbed people in PR & Marketing. Would you consider giving my client (that pays me and gives me massive bonuses, and pays you nothing) a free advertisement? It would be so beneficial to my client if you would run their advertisement (also known as company trailer) for free.

Oh really? Giving a company that is already massively wealthy, that does not currently advertise; a free advertisement would help them. I am shocked at such a concept. There is an old adage: “give away the milk and no one will buy the cow.” Too many gaming media outlets have been sucked into giving away advertisements in the form of company trailers. These companies monetize the trailers on your channels. They did it to us when we gave away free company trailers on our Youtube channel and website. Plus we got in trouble with Youtube for having the exact same content as other channels. It was a lose-lose situation for us.

It baffles me how many people in PR & Marketing won’t do something for us unless we have done all of this massive amount of free work for them. Thing is it is not actually free. It costs us. We spend money to make them money. Very rarely does someone in PR & Marketing reimburse us anything. Yet they keep coming asking for us to spend even more money on them. The part about it that bothers me the most is they treat us like slaves and refuse to acknowledge we have costs. On top of that they take credit for our hard work with their clients. Some even brag that our hard work got them a bonus. Guess how many people in PR & Marketing have shared that bonus with us? ZERO!

We have done a ton for a variety of companies over the years. It is public knowledge. Check out the e-magazines. Check out the website. There are thousands of pages on our website. Thousands of games we have done videos on. Thousands of press releases we have published. Thousands of images have been published. There are hundreds of games we have done previews on. We have reviewed thousands of products. Our work ethic speaks for itself. We have done an astounding amount of work for the video game industry. Recognition of that in the form of advertisements, physical copies of products, sponsored videos, and more should be a given. It is my hope and prayer that the self-absorbed will read this article and correct their attitude.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
