Nintendo King of Rehash
Cordova, TN; April 29, in the year of our Lord 2019--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is exploring an interesting phenomenon in the video game industry. Video games are re-released at a high interval. Some companies keep remaking the same games over and over again. They might add one new aspect, or feature to the latest iteration of the same game. Nintendo is quite well known for this. This is why I am declaring Nintendo king of the rehash. Nintendo enacts this multiple times in a year. They are not the only company that does this, but Nintendo seems to have a higher frequency.
Is this a bad thing? Are there any positives to the re-release of video games? Younger games can now play games they missed on previous systems. Some people might say they should just play the original game on the original systems. That would require younger games to purchase the older systems as well. Why not let them play on the newest system? Plus the newer versions add content a great many times. If you currently own the older version it is not economical to purchase the newest version. Is it more economical to buy the older systems and the older games?
Depending on your personal perspective Nintendo’s rehash policy can be a positive thing or a negative thing. Older systems do break down. Repairing and replacing them can be expensive. Long time gamers can get exhausted with little innovation and difference between video games when they re-released over and over again. I can see both sides to this issue. At times I appreciate it especially when an older version of a game is really expensive to purchase. Other times I get sick of the same game re-released yet again with one new little wrinkle. Where do you come down on this issue?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
