Where is the Church?
Cordova, TN; November 25, in the year of our Lord 2019 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is calling out a major problem in the video game industry. The title of this FFG Original news article should explain all of it. We want to know where is the church when it comes to video games. I work a day job, and do this ministry work as often as my schedule allows. I am discerning news stories, writing articles, working on the magazine, working on games for review, streaming, recording videos, processing videos, and more. There are times it would be nice for some support from brothers and sisters in Christ. Where are they? Watching worldly shows? Going to sporting events? Why can’t they help a brother out?
On a lower budget we have reached more people than most churches. Why don’t they financially support that and be wise with the talents? They could turn on our Twitch channel and have it up while we are streaming. It would be even better if they would watch the stream, and chat with us. There are so many wonderful things we could talk about. In a nation where a super majority identify as Christian the top streamers and Youtubers should also be Christians. That will only happen if the church supports us while we are working hard bringing safe entertainment to the world.
It irritates me when churches will play trailers for Christian movies, and show certain new Christian books. Not one church has ever shown any of the books I have written. They have shown books on the topic of video games. Just none of mine. I don’t care if churches pick other Christian streamers and Youtubers and support them. Just get involved in this industry. There are plenty of Christian video game developers that need your help. You will promote the latest Christian movie, and book, but not video game. Why? You can probably tell I am passionate about this.
I have personally talked to over fifty different pastors about involvement in the video game industry. All have excuses why they won’t do it. Usually they bring up the story of Jesus and money changers tables. Yet I point out they sell tickets to the latest worldly movie theater for a Christian movie. I also point out they have book stores selling certain Christian authors. They already opened the door. They let some things in, and then use a bad excuse for others. I hope churches accept this loving rebuke and start getting involved.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
