Retro Gaming Thrives

Cordova, TN; January 11 in the year of our Lord 2021 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. Most of the bought off gaming media outlets are constantly brainwashing weak minds into always buying the newest, latest, and most expensive games and systems. Why? Have you ever thought about that? I was at a used game store recently and it dawned on me how much used video games are thriving. People are coming into these stores to purchase older video game experiences. They are purchasing older machines. These games and machines are new to them. They spend a whole lot less money on them as well.

We routinely get comments and emails about some of the retro video game titles we have reviewed and done live streams/videos on. I marvel on a nearly daily basis of how many comments we get about this Nintendo 64 game, or that Genesis game. For some it is nostalgia and for others it is something to purchase and play. I get comments and emails all the time telling me someone bought a game or system because of our video coverage. Not everyone has the money to keep up with the newest games on the newest systems. Why should they have to? The video game industry is big enough to allow for a thriving retro video game section.

Look at a lot of the indie video games over the past few years. Notice what they have in common? Many of them are done in some retro style. We have played 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit and more brand new downloadable only video games. There are so many things that were never done in those eras. Indie developers are making those things happen. There are definitely limits to what can be done on those older systems. I smile every time I see what cool new concept some indie developer has done on those retro systems. There are really cool games being made. If you missed those gameplay experiences then I encourage you to check them out.

This is one of the reasons we are bringing in retro games to live stream on our channels from time to time. We love playing games we missed back in the day, or never got to video capture. It is so cool to educate a younger generation to these games. They never heard of them or seen them. This is video game history and video game preservation. We are spending all kinds of money helping out the video game industry because we specialize many times on the educational and kid titles that no one else is video capturing for posterity.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
