The Measure You Use
Cordova, TN; December 27, in the year of our Lord 2021 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. We had some get mad at us for advertising to them right after they advertised to us. They had no concept or clue that we follow the Holy Bible. In this instance Matthew 7:2 was being applied.
Matthew 7:2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
This person sent us an advertisement email and wanted us to purchase their goods/service. We then let them know about how they could advertise those goods/service to the millions within Family Friendly Gaming Universe. They were so offended because all they wanted from us was to give them money. We picked up a mirror and showed them how they were behaving. They were not impressed with facing what they were doing to others. They were getting the same measure that they used.
Another passage in the same chapter is Matthew 7:12. This is generally referred to as the Golden Rule.
Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
We strive on a daily basis to apply this to our lives and how we run Family Friendly Gaming. We are constantly treating others better than we are treated. We are constantly showing them a better way. You don’t have to be greedy and selfish. You can be self less. You can help out others. Looking at all of the coverage Family Friendly Gaming publishes on a yearly basis shows how many we have helped out. The good news is there are those in the video game industry that follow the Holy Bible as well. There are those in the video game industry that do wonderful and nice things for us. We receive advertisements, sponsorships, gift cards and more from those that want to follow the Golden Rule as well.
The bad news is there are way more people in the video game industry that do nothing in return. There are those that are selfish and self-absorbed. I find it really sad that they have not learned from our fine example. They have not learned from the fine example of others in the video game industry. I hope they will read this article and change their ways. I hope they will examine their lives and decide to go that extra mile to give the measure they are given. It won’t change how we behave though. We will continue to treat them better.
