Backward Mentality on Twitter

Cordova, TN; March 7, in the year of our Lord 2022 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I try to comprehend where other people are coming from in any kind of conflict or disagreement. There are times that I can only come up with one thing. That one thing is some people are mentally backwards. Their brains are wired the wrong direction. They need help and I am not trained nor am I qualified to assist them. This is especially true on Twitter. In fact out of all of the social media sites we interact with this problem seems to be unique to Twitter.

Back in 2015 I wrote about the selfish nature of social media. I had something hilarious happen recently. Someone who claimed to be a graphic artist followed the Family Friendly Gaming Twitter account. They followed us because they must be interesting in what we are doing and we are about right? Not at all. I will get to that in just a bit. We had someone send them our normal welcome message which lets them know all of the places they can interact with Family Friendly Gaming. Like our website, YT channel, Rumble channel, and more. We also let new followers know we purchase all of our artwork and digital services from Fiverr seller. They are given our account so they can connect with us there if they want us to purchase from them. Bear in mind we have hundreds of "Graphic Artists" that follow us on Twitter. We can't give them all business. Plus we really like how things are done on Fiverr.

So this new follower sends us a poorly written statement wanting us to give them money. They followed us for us to pay them money for artwork. They had no interest in anything we were doing. They were all about themselves. We ignored the message because that is what we do with the hundreds of graphical artists that follow us on Twitter. They then followed us with another account that had the same looking art on it. That second account got a the same welcome message. BTW We did not follow back either account. We are not interested in them unless they are on Fiverr and we actually want some artwork. Which is rare. This sent this person into a rage. They sent a message in some foreign language that translated into: "What do you think?" It gets even better. They blocked us. Since we are not going to give them money for following us they never want to see anything we say, and they want to ensure we can't see what they post. The joke is on them because we were never going to check out what they posted ever. They are not taking anything from us we are/were/will be interested in.

I laughed hysterically because this person only followed us to try and get us to pay them money. They did not follow because they are interested in what we are doing. They followed because they wanted us to pay them money. Which is completely backwards to how someone should think. We follow others because we are interested in them and what they are doing. We follow others because we want to know what they are about. We do not follow others so they can pay us money. Maybe this happens on other social media sites. We have not had that experience anywhere else though.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
Paul Bury
