Lies I am Tired of - Thanks for Posting
Cordova, TN; November 28, in the year of our Lord 2022
-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of
diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I realized
recently that there are plenty of lies I am sick and tired of
hearing. This has turned into a series of articles. I am sick
and tired of people in PR and Marketing telling me: "thanks for
posting," or "thanks for sharing the link." Why must they always
attempt to diminish the hard work we are doing that makes them
money? We must edit the stories we are sent to fix their
plethora of mistakes. We must edit the stories for offensive
content. We do more than just share a link or post their story.
There are tons of edits I must do to stories that we decide to
publish. We must proof read them because I have found all kinds
of mistakes. Some places cannot figure out how to get spaces in
their stories. If we copy and paste only then there are words
that are combined. We are far from perfect and miss some of
these from time to time. I get cross eyed at time fixing all of
these mistakes from people who are profiting from my hard work.
They cannot even be bothered to fix the mistakes in their
stories before sending it along. To add insult to injury they
try and diminish the work we did to clean up their messes. How
rude and unprofessional is that?
The ones that act like all we did is share a link with them are
really annoying. We published your content. There is way more
that goes into it that just copying and pasting a link. Grow up,
and face reality. Why are they trying to discount the hard work
we do? Is it because they are profiting from it massively? Are
they trying to avoid any guilt for treating us like slave labor?
I have actually seen emails from people in PR and Marketing that
do not want to be told about mistakes in their press releases.
They are too important to be considerate of the hard work that
we do that makes them money. I almost always ignore those press
releases because I have no interest in helping out someone as
arrogant as that.
I write these articles in hopes to wake up some of the arrogant,
and selfish people within the video game industry. I want them
to start caring about others. I want them to stop being so
self-absorbed. I want them to stop treating us like slave labor.
I want them to start to care about those that work hard that
help them make so much money. Maybe I am just a dreamer. Maybe I
am expecting too much from those making so much money off of our
hard work. Maybe I am the catalyst for change.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
