Final Fantasy The Memories

Cordova, TN; October 9, in the year of our Lord 2023 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I get all kinds of questions all day long. Things like - can you give me money? can you hire me? can you buy my product? can you give me your opinion of this or that? Those questions make me shake my head most of the time. As if I have nothing better to do than to give you, your way. Ultimately that is what it comes down to. There are people wanting their way. Almost every single one of them want money from me. I am bored with those.

The cool questions I get are when someone asks me about a game I am playing. Why are you playing the original Final Fantasy? That question came in recently. One of the reasons this is such a cool question is there is a bit of story behind it. I love talking about this as well. I purchased the original Final Fantasy video game on the 8-bit NES around the time it launched. It came out in December of 1987. Maybe I got Final Fantasy in the early part of 1988. I was fifteen years old when I started playing this game. I really got into the original Final Fantasy video game and it got me into all kinds of trouble.

Before we discuss the trouble I got into because of Final Fantasy let me explain to you that I always liked the Dragon Warrior (later renamed Dragon Quest) franchise more than the Final Fantasy franchise. Dragon Warrior always connected with me better. The original Final Fantasy did actually connect with me. The trouble I got into due to Final Fantasy was staying up late into the night playing. Final Fantasy is one of the few games this happened. I lost track of time and would play into the early hours of the morning. One of my parents would wake up to go to the bathroom and see the light on in the living room. I was in trouble for staying up too late playing a game.

I am certainly much older and much wiser now. I know how and when to stop. Plus I will be live streaming this video game and adhering to a strict schedule. As I have been playing Final Fantasy on the Pixel Remastered cartridge I do not have the same problem. I like getting to bed on time and sleeping now. I am curious if those urges will hit me though. Will I need to grind off camera some? Will that impact me anywhere? Time will tell. I am just excited to go back to the first video game that kept me up late at night. It has been some decades since I last played this game.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
Paul Bury
