How Video Game Media Can Regain Freedom

Cordova, TN; October 16, in the year of our Lord 2023
-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of
diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. Video game
media is in a sad shape in 2023. Most of them have been co-opted
by the video game companies. Most are too weak and spineless to
stand up and do the right thing. Many are seen are corrupt.
Their masters the video game companies snap their fingers and
they come running. They give out high review scores like they
are candy. They write fluff pieces to get digital download codes
a few days before the game actually is being sold in stores. How
can they turn it around? How can they attain their freedom?

We cut those cords here at Family Friendly Gaming. We found
these video game companies need us way more than we need them.
We can work on other things like TV Shows, movies, comic books,
retro games and more. Our voice carries a lot of weight with
millions. We continue to be open, honest, and transparent. We
earned that respect by not simping for these companies. If we
like something we say it. If we don't like something we say it.
Our bottom line is not impacted by the sales of the video game
companies. We figured out how to be free of their lies, and
				propaganda.

First thing these other video game media outlets need to do is
stop caring about the latest, greatest, newest whatever. Stop
cheerleading for these companies. Do not jump because they tell
you to. Instead do things on your time table. Do things when
they work for you. The video game companies will come begging
for your attention. Correct the relationship here. Let them know
that a free app on your phone was more important to you than
their press release. Let them know that you will not kill
yourself so they can sell a few more units. That also means be
willing to purchase copies of the games yourselves. I turn down
digital download codes all the time. I don't care about their
non-physical copy game. I am not interested in spending time
with their product. Yes it will shock them. Yes they may get
angry. What are you really going to lose? I am sure you can find
those that will appreciate the work you do that makes them
				money.

Make them wait. I personally am sick and tired of these video
game companies expecting me to work for them at their beck and
call when they never pay one penny for the hard work I do that
makes them money. When they ask me what can they do to assist in
the coverage. I tell them straight up, sponsorships and
advertisements. I make a point that they are competing with
other companies that are paying us to play their games. They
expect me to be their slave labor? Not today baby. We even have
fines on our legal page. By emailing us they agree to all of our
terms. We are taking a page out of their book. How they treat us
is how we will treat them right back. If it is good for the
goose it is good for the gander. Do not let them treat you
badly. Put your foot down. If they do not send over products
they will be losing sales. I am sure you can find something else
				to write about.

Be patient. I no longer care if I play a game early or even day
one. It might sit for a month or never get played. If there is
reader interest in something they will let us know. When readers
ask why we did not cover something we pin it right on those
video game companies. They are difficult to work with. They
refuse to play ball. They expect us to be their slaves and sign
away all our rights to play their game. We have been trashing a
great many video game companies for a long time now. They are
losing sales and losing customers because of it. Plenty of our
readers wait for a game to sell used so the video game companies
get none of their money ever. Their image continues to take a
hit. The more gaming media outlets that expose the bad treatment
from the video game companies the better. It is moving the
needle. They have to come to the table at some point when all of
us demand to be treated better.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

				God bless,
