Poor Targeting

Cordova, TN; October 30, in the year of our Lord 2023 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I am one of those people that is constantly analyzing and trying to puzzle things out. I consistently come up with interesting ideas that could make things better in a plethora of ways. I discuss and debate all kinds of interesting ideas from world events to our place on this planet. One of the interesting topics that has been off and on for years is poor targeting from PR and Marketing. Initially I thought they were just lazy. There is of course plenty of evidence to support that fact.

Recently a new thought came to me based on recent evidence. Part of it comes to the realization that too many in PR and Marketing do not care. They do not care about us in any way shape or form. We are slave labor to them. They see us as fodder that do whatever they say. I have seen plenty of press releases end with rude, nasty, and hateful things like: "if you find any mistakes in this press release, good for you. Do not tell us about it." Don't they want to improve, grow and get better? No they do not. They do not care. They are entitled and expect us to fix their mistakes. They cannot be bothered to have good quality. They look down on us.

This is not the only example of this poor attitude and messed up perspective. Whenever some product fails we are sent emails blaming us for not doing enough work to make them enough money. By the way they do not pay us to do any of that work so they come off as hateful taskmasters over slaves. I have personally witnessed bribes being paid from large gaming media outlets to people in PR and Marketing. There have been people in PR and Marketing that hinted to me I should give them one hundred dollars to be given a free copy of a game that retails for fifty dollars. No thanks I will buy the game for fifty instead. Truth be told they should be paying us with advertisements and sponsorships. I am appalled that corrupt gaming media outlets are paying off people in PR and Marketing.

The problem too many in PR and Marketing do not comprehend or realize is that bad attitudes and not caring is contagious. It will come back to bite them as more and more gaming media outlets decide it costs less to purchase a copy of the game at retail. Also why should we cover their game? We can cover whatever we want. There are plenty of video games to cover. We do not need to be their fanboys and fangirls. Why should we care about their sales when they never advertise or sponsor us? In the end their attitude spreads and ultimately costs them money. We have opened a lot of eyes with our leadership in the video game industry. We have educated quite a few people. Too bad that many of them are refusing to correct course before they crash into that iceberg.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
