Talking and not Listening

 

 

Cordova, TN; November 13, in the year of our Lord 2023 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. One of the things in the video game industry that absolutely baffles me is people in PR and Marketing that are always talking and never listening. I have multiple examples of this. Some of these examples are just odd to me. Why talk and never listen? Are they that self absorbed? Are they suffering from the center of the universe disease?

Recently I got an email from someone that wanted me to buy something from them. To be clear I get a lot of emails from people who wrongly assume I have all this money sitting around waiting to give it to hundreds of different people that want to take it from me. I don't have it so go away. They waited a day or two and then sent a check in email. Their first email was asking for a meeting. If you look at our Legal page then you will notice that anyone asking for a meeting or checking in have incurred a fee. Well this guy incurred two fees. Claimed to love our site and read everything we have. Obviously not the Legal page or any of the FFG Originals.

This is where it gets funny. I replied to the second email letting this person know how they could pay the fees they incurred. Of course I thanked them for their payment in advance since it shows they care enough to help us continue to exist. I get an immediate error response that this person is not able to receive my email. I laughed hysterically at this. They are taking at me, and not listening back. They do not want to listen back. They could save themselves so much time if they did not waste it by not listening. If this person decided to listen they would realize they received a response. Instead they will keep checking back and there is no reason for me to respond to them ever again.

There have been people we have worked with for years that had the exact same problem. They would check in three and four times and finally tell us they checked their Junk or Spam folder and found all of our responses. Maybe you should white list us so you can start getting responses? Until then they will continue to waste time. I don't bother with responding again because I know they are talking and not listening. Maybe they will read this article and realize how they correct their mistakes.
