Tchia Announced
London, 9 January in the year of our Lord 2023 – The
Awaceb studio and the publisher Kepler Interactive invite you
today for a short walk in nature, on the magnificent archipelago
from which Tchia, the tropical adventure that overflows with
life, is inspired. This second episode of our behind-the-scenes
video mini-series takes you through breathtaking landscapes to
discover the invigorating flora, varied fauna and particularly
rich culture of New Caledonia. Rekindle the flame of adventure
in 2023 on PC and PlayStation consoles!
Founded by two friends who grew up in New Caledonia, Awaceb is a
small studio of nine people dedicated to creating colorful
narrative adventure games. Tchia is inspired by the sparkling
explorations of these two friends on the archipelago: customs
and traditions, as well as the atypical landscapes of the
region, are at the origin of this bubbling and fantastic island
tale. Carried by a soundtrack rich in many local sound colors
and dialogues provided by natives of New Caledonia, Tchia is a
true declaration of love to the land of origin of the developers
working on the game.
Tchia is an open-world sandbox game that invites players to live
the adventure of a lifetime: explore the depths of the ocean and
become one with nature, thanks to the soul transfer mechanic
that allows you to play as more than 30 animals and several
hundred different objects. The environment is your best tool for
exploration!
But life is not easy in Chia. The island, where this intrepid
heroine is from, has been invaded by strange cloth creatures
called the Maano. Under the orders of the vile administrator of
the archipelago, they have kidnapped Chia's father and it is up
to you to release him, using all the means at your disposal to
triumph over adversity. Between action sequences, take a break
and pass the time with your favorite ukulele!
Tchia is scheduled for spring 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4 and
PlayStation 5.
