The ONLY ONE

-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in
covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the
voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. I
have noticed a very selfish behavior in the video game industry
getting worse in recent years. Too many of these video game
companies act like they are the only one you are buying games
from. Social media is a great example of this. We post six to
twelve different posts in a day on different things Family
Friendly Gaming is doing. The PR and Marketing people for these
companies like one of our posts. The one that deals with them.
They ignore everything else we do.
The same can be said for when they send over press releases and
want us to spend the money on publishing them. They act like
there is no one else sending us anything. They seem to have lost
contact with reality. They seem to not comprehend they are
competing with all these other companies. We have limited
finances and bandwidth. So we can only publish so much any given
day. If I have to go on site at the day job (because these
companies are not properly advertising with us) then there is
even less I am able to do that makes them money. We just lose
money on publishing their content. Some of them will send in
five press releases in a week expecting we will give them their
way every single business day.
I have noticed the same thing when it comes to reviewable
copies. They make all these demands before sending over a code,
and expecting a review the next day. We have nothing else to
play but whatever code that has no real world value they sent
us. There are no other games releasing that week or that month.
Yes I am dripping with sarcasm. Why do they think they are the
only ones we are working with? Why do they feel they need to do
nothing in the competition of our time and money? How are they
so self absorbed? The center of the universe disease is getting
worse with these people. I for one and am getting sick and tired
of it. You are not the only one on the planet. Stop acting like
it.
