Truths to Share - Unsubscribe

 

 

Cordova, TN; April 17, in the year of our Lord 2023 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. There are so many truths I love to share. This turned into a series of articles. We have been distributing our once a month emails about the latest issue of Family Friendly Gaming releasing through some online third part software for awhile now. Those places are now charging money for us to use them because we have too many contacts. So we had to handle the emailing ourselves recently. I got two funny stories related to those that found an once a month email excessive and wanted to unsubscribe. They really shot themselves in the foot there.

The first one asked to unsubscribe but could not even be bothered with following the directions. They were told to single reply back. They replied all to let the whole world know they were unsubscribing. So they annoyed a lot of other people. We looked at the listing and did not find their address on our listing. We let this person know about this. They accused of us being liars and other venomous hate speech. No wonder they want to unsubscribe - they hate anything moral, ethical, decent, honorable and good. I looked and found out there was another account with the organizational address. That was passed along. This person realized it was just what we had told them it was. Did they bother to apologize for their multiple mistakes? Nope. They showed us another bad example of dealing with PR and Marketing.

The second story is someone that sent us an email requesting we spend our very limited financial and temporal resources on their press release that has no connection to anything we have covered or normally do cover. So they did a poor job of targeting. I worked diligently on a very nice rejection email concerning their work order request. I sent them this very nice rejection email. They replied back with UNSUBSCRIBE. I could not stop laughing for a good five minutes. They wanted me to do something for them for no pay, and I rejected them. They did not want to hear it so they unsubscribe from a response to their press releases. Talk about having no clue about the context. We got some great laughs out of the mistakes from this person in PR and Marketing.

At this point I wonder if these people in PR and Marketing are getting any training? The level of self absorbed narcissism is crazy. I have written for many years about these issues and problems. Here are two more examples of people completely trashing their very own industry. I know plenty of people in the media that complain about the lowering standards of the PR and Marketing work force. I guess this lower expectation is the new norm. Thank you Obama. Thank you Biden. Nothing like pushing poor work ethic and expecting others to pick up the tab for them. Guess what? I am not picking up the tab for these rude, hateful, examples of those that need serious correction.
