Want a Code?
Cordova, TN; July 24, in the year of our Lord 2023
-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of
diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. There is one
question I am sick and tired of hearing. That question is the
title of this article. I get this question ten to twenty times a
week. Want a Code? We can give you a free code. My initial
reaction is: "NO!" First off codes have no value to them. They
are a pain to use, and there are too many hooked attached. Even
though we have a policy on our legal page about checking in -
there are still angry, psycho haters in PR and Marketing that
check in. They send a code and check in on when we will be
working as their slave labor to publish content for them on that
game.
We never asked for a code to that game. Many times the people in
PR and Marketing as so poor at doing their jobs they do not even
properly target. They send an email bragging about blood, gore,
macabre, and morbid content and want to know when we will spend
money on publishing content on their filth. Here it is. This
article is the coverage you get. We are not entering the code.
We are not downloading the game. We are not playing it. We are
not spending are extremely limited financial resources on
publishing content on your specific garbage. Buy a vowel, and
get a clue.
At this point I do not care. We have written about our disdain
for digital downloads again and again. Since these people are
not listening, they get a reference to our Legal page. That page
also states they agree to all of our terms by sending is
something. None of them pay for our hard work that makes them
massive profits. Their job is to convince me to give them their
way. Sending me a code and demanding work does not do that. I
have written about this again and again. Obviously they are
failing at listening. The first rule of writing is to know your
audience. They obviously do not know me. They fail at that part.
Maybe a few of them will make some tiny attempt to get better in
the future. I can hope at least.
Even when the game is family friendly many times they are
offering codes on Steam. YUCK! I am not a fan of PC games. I am
not part of the PC Gamer master race arrogance. I prefer playing
video games in comfort on the consoles. I prefer the
controllers, systems, cartridges, discs, and experience. There
are very few PC games we just play. They need to be something
like Stumble Guys, or we are being paid to play the game. Hint
being paid to play the game is also a cheat code to get us
interested in playing their game for a review. Live stream
sponsorships go a long way to show us they care about us.
Otherwise we feel like slave labor and they are abusers.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
Paul Bury
