Isekai Crafter Releases
Family Friendly Gaming News
Erie, Pennsylvania, July 16, in the year of our Lord
2024 – Book 1 of Isekai Crafter, The Llama Glama Gang,
releases today on Amazon Kindle, Audible, and as content on the
Official Minecraft Marketplace. Written, illustrated, and
developed by a small independent team, this zany young adult
adventure aims to celebrate the magic of games like Minecraft
and how they shape the people who play them.
Published by LitRPG fanatics at Aethon Books, Isekai Crafter
tells the story of a high school student who retreats into manga
to escape reality, but he has fallen into a crafting world. He
doesn’t play crafting games, and he doesn’t have much time to
learn because he is immediately tasked with solving the mystery
of the Llama Glama Gang, a failed pop group who has begun
stealing major artifacts from the town of Llamaldea.
“The isekai genre is known for blending video game mechanics
into magical worlds,” Marshal Carper, founder of Carper
Creative, the team behind the project, says. “There are a lot of
isekai stories that feature things like farming and crafting,
but most of them focus on RPG mechanics. Instead, we wanted to
tell a story where crafting and building mechanics inspired by
games like Minecraft or Terraria were central to the story and
action.”
While wholesome and humorous, the story isn’t lacking in depth.
The characters face internal and external challenges. They don’t
always win, but they learn and grow as they use their creativity
to solve problems and battle opponents.
That description extends to the Minecraft experiences that
accompany Isekai Crafter, featuring a heavy dose of goofiness
alongside maps and mechanics where the reader can become the
main character and play alone or with friends. The My Little
Llama Overhaul Add-On, for example, brings the magical llamas
from the Llama Glama Gang into Minecraft where players can tame,
breed, and train them, unlocking special abilities like
lava-walking and recipes for stylish llama armor.
And these experiences are built with Marketplace support in mind
so players of any age on any device–from Switch to mobile to
PC–can play quickly and easily.
Isekai Crafter: The Llama Glama Gang is available now in book
form on Kindle and Audible. The My Little Llama Overhaul Add-On
is available now on the Official Minecraft Marketplace. The
adventure map for the Llama Glama Gang is expected to be
released soon.
